Upgrade your Dining Room with a Modern Glass Wine Closet with Stylish Metal Wine Racks

The Custom Wine Cellars Austin Group recently finished work on this custom wine cellar. Master custom wine cellar designers and builders led by Steve Pantalemon are responsible for creating this beautiful wine storage with modern VintageView metal wine racks that match the rest of the home. Steve was happy to oblige with his client’s request, and the finished product turned out to be absolutely gorgeous. Continue reading to learn more about this magnificent art piece’s design and construction process.

Choose Metal Wine Racks for your Modern Glass Wine Closet!

The metal wine racking is enhanced with a touch of class and refinement by the use of mirror tiles.

Designing and Building a State-of-the-Art Glass Wine Cellar with Metal Wine Racks

Steve was previously hired for a different project for the client’s home, and this time he wanted to build a wine cellar near his dining area. The team’s proficiency in the process, artistry, and professionalism made communicating for this modern glass wine closet project easy between Steve and the client.

During the construction of this modern glass wine cellar, the team had to change the original plan because the owner altered his house at that time. Steve’s group adjusted the design to align with the client’s desire for his dream wine cellar. The wine cellar was assembled in six weeks.

Storage Capacity of the Metal Wine Racks and Wine Shelves

The purpose of this unit was to be aesthetically pleasing, but the customer still wanted to be able to store several bottles of wine. VintageView’s triple-deep black satin metal wine rackssolved this problem perfectly. They are minimal, and the bottles appear to be floating in the air. The triple-deep configuration of the metal wine racking also provides an impressive 220 wine bottlestorage capacity. Moreover, the wine shelves and wood cabinets provide additional storage space.

For a side tip, you can also use floor-to-ceiling custom wine racks. Ideas are limitless when science and creativity come together, and of course when you work with professional wine cellar builders!

The greatest obstacle to overcome during construction was installing the glass shelves onto the mirrored tiles. Steve and his group were challenged to design the wine shelves and metal rackingthat appeared to be hovering in midair in front of a mirrored backdrop while supporting heavy bottles. This was a new undertaking for them, but they achieved their objectives through clever engineering and expertise.

This contemporary wine cellar has double-paned tempered glass doors that reveal the beauty of its metal wine racks.

A Contemporary Decorative Touch for the Wine Closet

In order to complement the project’s design to the rest of the house, Steve needed to use the same wood for the flooring, wooden wall, and cabinetry. Because the rest of the house is sporting stained white oak, he used various types of stains to achieve contrast and beauty.

The mirrored tiles at the center of the wine closet drew any visitor’s attention to the dining table, making the small-spaced cellar area seem more spacious. The double-paned glass panels and glass doors maintain humidity and temperature levels while providing a clear view of the closet’s interior.

The two glass doors come in contact with gaskets when closed, ensuring that the wine room remains unaffected by external temperatures or leakage.

Art, collectibles, or wine-related accessories can be displayed on the wine shelves, or additional bottles of wine can also be stored there. Creating the design and constructing the wine storage area with this gorgeous modern metal wine racking system is just the starting point. It’s up to the owners to make the wine closet their own by adding their own personality and touches to this wine cellar masterpiece.

Adjustable Wine Cellar Lighting for Any Ocassion

Steve decided to install LED light bulbs in the wine cellar to prevent overheating and damaging the wines. The light can be adjusted to various brightness levels, enabling the client to adjust it to his preferences.

At night, only a minimal amount of light is required in the glass wine closet since ambient light from the day illuminates it. A dimmer switch near the 2″ recessed can lights in the ceiling allows them to be either brightly or dimly lit. If he desires a more subtle ambient background light, he can do this without entering the cellar. The control panel was installed so the client could easily adjust the brightness intensity without entering the wine cellar.

Selecting an Appropriate Wine Cooling Unit

In this wine cellar with metal wine racks, the wooden grille enclosure hides any unattractive evaporating coils.

Choosing the right wine cellar cooling system when working in hot climates is critical. Precise temperature and humidity monitoring and control are crucial factors to consider. Steve chose a split system cooling unit after calculating the square footage of the wine storage area and bottle capacity. The wine cooling unit has fan coils built in the wine room, and the condensing unit is placed outdoors next to the air conditioner.

Placing the condenser outside can improve the performance of a split system by lowering noise levels. Noisy machinery turning on during a meal and ruining the experience was the last thing the owner wanted. A grille was used in the ceiling to hide the cooling unit equipment to maintain an appealing aesthetic. An approach like this allows technicians to easily access the equipment for service and maintenance and maintain a clean and uncluttered appearance.
